Records Management Society Local Government Group
The Local Government Group met on Friday July 20th at the Westminster Archives Centre. The theme for the day was "e-mail management - a practical approach". The day started with a presentation from Peter Kibby of Bramble.cc about managing e-mail inside an EDRMS (see presentation 1), this was followed by a presentation from Robert Chell of Cardiff County Council (see presentation 2). The final presentation of the morning was a case study presented by Richard Jeffery Cook of Inform Consult Ltd (see presentation 3).
The afternoon took the form of breakout sessions which discussed induction programmes for records management and e-mail management best practice. The feedback from the groups can be seen below. The afternoon finished with a presentation from Robert Chell about The Local Government Standards Architecture Reference Model (LGSARM) and a discussion about the standards.
