Membership Information
The Society offers four types of membership:
Corporate: £287.50 p/a
Corporate membership is designed for companies. It is a transferable membership and therefore provides continuity as the contact name can be changed if a member of staff changes post. Any number of staff can attend RMS meetings and training at the discounted member rate. Corporate members also receive duplicate copies of all publications.
Individual: £69.00 p/a
This is a non-transferable membership designed for an individual to join the Society.
Retired: £34.50 p/a
Retired membership is for those persons who have retired from paid professional activities.
Student: £13.80 p/a
Student membership is designed for those undertaking full-time training for a recognised qualification in the Records Management field. Student status must be confirmed when membership is taken out and upon renewal.
Join now for an annual membership and we will send a pro rata invoice inclusive to the end of December. We don’t charge for mid month subscription, membership charges begin from your first full month e.g. join on 10th July and you will only receive an invoice for August-December. You will then receive your full annual invoice for the following membership year January-December.

- You will benefit from supported professional self-help such as the development of the Local Government Retention Schedule by Society members.
- You will have the opportunity to advertise at a discounted rate. You may advertise in the Bulletin itself or use the Society's mailshot services. More information on these services is available on request.
- You will be entitled to discounted rates at the RMS Annual Conference, and any meetings, courses and training held by the Society.
- You will have access to the Member Area of this website, allowing you to view all past editions of the Society's Bulletin, as well as archive copies of the Records Management Journal.
- Free access to the Local Government Classification Retention Schedule (LGCRS), an online records retention reference tool.
