Paul Dodgson, Driving Standards Agency

Paul Dodgson

I have been involved in Records Management as long as I care to remember – some 30 years. My life has been surrounded by creating access and filing solutions. A previous Vice-Chairman of the RMS, I hold the role of the Records Manager (or equivalent title) very close to my heart.

My previous publications are there for all to find, the British Computer Society, the RMS Bulletin (of course!), Ark Publications, TNA RecordKeeping etc.

I am a graduate in Public Administration and also hold a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies as well as being a Prince 2 practitioner. My Records Management MSc dissertation was about Search versus Classification, a journey into a new way of managing records via discovery tools rather than expensive records management solutions - I passed! All sounds good but there is no better qualification than experience.

I now work as Head of Information Assurance with the Driving Standards Agency and I currently lead on information management, knowledge management, records management, information assurance, compliance management and security management. Records Management expertise associated with business management knowledge and experience was my route into this fascinating role.
