Dr Babis Theodoulidis

Dr Babis Theodoulidis holds the position of Senior Lecturer at Manchester Business School, and visiting positions at the School of Engineering, University of Surrey and Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, Greece, MSc in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow and PhD in Computation from UMIST. He has published over 100 refereed journal and conference articles and his research work (as Principal or Co-Investigator) has been supported from UK and European funding bodies and also directly from industry. He has been involved extensively with European projects since the early days of ESPRIT in 1990 and he has been the project manager for the IST project PARMENIDES (IST-2001-39023). Dr Babis Theodoulidis investigates the modelling, analysis and management of information within the context of business information systems and more recently, focusing on service industries. In particular, he investigates the temporal and spatial aspects of information, the analysis of information using data and text mining techniques, the visualisation of information, and information management issues within organisations such as information retention, audit and ownership and the role of the Chief Information Officer.
