Alex Hodge, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council

Alex Hodge

Alex Hodge is Corporate Records Manager at Knowsley Council. He joined the Council in August 2009 with the specific aim of developing, managing and delivering a records management programme. In addition to developing the programme Alex is currently involved in a number of projects, including the migration to SharePoint 2007, flexible working and the refurbishment of Council offices. Alex is also assisting in the development of a training programme in Information Rights and Information Management for all Council Managers.

Alex obtained the Masters Degree in Archives and Records Management from The University of Liverpool in 2003. Before joining Knowsley Council Alex worked as Assistant Archivist at St Mary’s NHS Trust (2003 – 2004) and Project Manager for the third phase of ‘Access to Archives’ (A2A) Project, based at Greater Manchester County Record Office (2004 – 2005). Alex’s last position was at Bolton Council as initially Project Manager for the Records Manager Project (2005-2006) and latterly as Corporate Records Manager (2006 – 2009).
