Ava Wieclawska

Ava has worked as an interdisciplinary archives and records management practitioner for the last seven years. Her experience of both private and public sectors include three years with a major multinational consumer goods company before moving to work in local government. A strong advocate of interdisciplinary archives and records management practice, Ava is currently the Records Manager for Wirral Council where she has been responsible for developing and implementing the archives and records management services, incorporating all aspects from repository management and design to education and outreach. Successes in recent years have seen the Records Management Team’s achievements recognized by the Records Management Society in 2009, her employer realize sizable savings through the release of assets, and the newly established archives service awarded a three star rating by The National Archives. Today Ava focuses on repository expansion, on commercializing and marketing records management services to external organizations, and advising on electronic content management solutions. She is a member of the Records Management Society, the Society of Archivists, and sits on the Executive Committee of LUCAS.
