Martyn Lockwood, Dumfries & Galloway Council
Martyn is the Information Management Officer for Social Work Services in Dumfries & Galloway Council. His remit includes Records Management, FOI(S)A, Internet and Intranet for Social Work Services. He also has a corporate role for Records Management.
He joined Dumfries & Galloway Council in 1992, working in front-line social work. Since 2004 he has assisted in the successful implementation of some major pieces of legislation and in November 2006 he was asked if he would implement the new Corporate Records Management Policy, in Social Work. This was a pilot project and if successful would lead to roll-out across the council.
The project was successfully completed in August of 2008, and one year on, has just received a favourable review from external consultant, Heather Jack of HJBS Ltd.
