Mark Merifield, The National Archives

Mark joined The National Archives Digital Continuity Project team in April 2008. Prior to his first foray in to the public sector he spent eight years in STM (Science Technical Medical) publishing: first as a customer services manager and then web manager for Elsevier's popular BioMedNet site prior to its closure, and finally as project manager for BioMed Central's repository hosting service, Open Repository. Prior to that he's also been a teacher and made pop videos, amongst other things.
Mark's current role within the Digital Continuity Project is to develop understanding of business need for maintaining continuity to information, risks to continuity in a digital environment and developing information management guidance to support the Digital Continuity framework of tools and services. Other areas of interest include wider management issues for digital information within a changing and dynamic digtal environment.
