BSI Standards
If you think that British (BS) and International (ISO) standards are developed by people with little or no subject matter expertise, then you are wrong. This session will explain how standards are drafted, how they are approved, and how you can have your say in which standards are developed and what they say.
The session will also give details of the latest developments in Records Management standards (such as BS ISO 15489), along with other work in associated areas including Electronic Document Management, Legal Admissibility, Metadata, Long Term Archiving, Information Security Management and Data Protection.
You will also be asked to vote at the session on whether particular BS and ISO publications are a help or a hindrance to good Records Management practices. The results of these votes will be considered by the experts who represent the UK at international meetings.
